|Emily Dills, 1st Grade Teacher|
Hi, my name is Emily Dills. I grew up in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. Which is home to the Pittsburgh Steelers training camp, banana split, Arnold Palmer, and Mr. Rodgers. I received my Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood and Special Education from Messiah College in 2015. I later added fifth and sixth grade to my general education teaching certificate.
The summer following graduation I worked as a fourth year leadership counselor at Outdoor Odyssey. After the summer I served as the leadership curriculum expert on a mobile training team in South Africa, Swaziland, Uganda, and Kenya. While working on this team I taught leadership, team building, and mentoring skills to the African Children’s Choir. The following school year I served as an AmeriCorps member for a local school in my hometown, supporting the students in math and reading. I then continued my work at the same school, but as a classroom assistant. Last school year I worked at Calvary as the middle/ high school math teacher and sixth grade bible teacher.
I enjoy spending time with family, friends, being outdoors, road trips, and reading the Bible.
