Joan educated her children at home from 2012-2022 and her sons now attend CCS! In the summer of 2019, she began earning her BS in Psychology through Liberty University Online. She will graduate in the spring of 2023 and has plans to begin earning her MA in Educational Psychology through Ball State University’s online programs soon after.
She believes wholeheartedly that the education of children is one of the highest callings and is happy to be teaching math to middle school students at Calvary Christian School. She is excited to work with Mr. Masters (Calvary’s high school math and science teacher) and Mr. Osborn (Calvary’s middle and high school principal) to develop a math program that guides students through the middle school years purposefully! Joan hopes to encourage her students to find God’s purpose for mathematical thinking, so they are prepared for high school and beyond! She wants students to be successful and will work hard to help each one reach their full potential!
Before Joan was hired as the middle school math teacher and 6th grade Bible teacher, she was first an elective photography instructor at Calvary. She has published a photography course with Master Books Academy (a branch of New Leaf Publishing) where she instructs students across the world to become better photographers.
Joan has been a Christian since she was 17 years old. She lives in Winchester with her two sons and their giant dogs. They attend Grace Baptist Church together and Joan serves as the Celebration Place Leader and Training Coach for the Celebrate Recovery Ministry at GBC.
