She holds a current Kentucky teaching certificate for grades K-5th. She taught 2nd and 3rd grade in the Fayette County Public School system for five years and 4th grade in the Clark County Public School system for two years. After staying home to care for her two children for five years, she returned to teaching. She has been teaching 1st grade at Calvary Christian School for the past 12 years. This coming school year, Julie is moving into a new role as the librarian/reading specialist. She is very excited about this new position and opportunity.
Julie and her husband, Chris, have been married for 25 years. They live in Winchester and have two children who are in high school. Both of their children attended Calvary Christian School from preschool through middle school. Their family is an active part of Calvary Christian Church. They enjoy hiking, riding bikes, gardening, playing games, and traveling. One amazing opportunity they had in the summer of 2011 was traveling as a family on a mission trip to Village Project Africa in Makutano, Kenya (http://villageprojectafrica.org/). It was a life changing experience for each one of them.
