Julie is from Lexington, Kentucky. She received a bachelor’s degree in education from Asbury University in Wilmore, Kentucky in 1993 and a master’s degree in education from Georgetown College in Georgetown, Kentucky in 2003. She holds a current Kentucky teaching certificate for grades K-5th . She taught 2nd and 3rd grade in the Fayette County Public School system for five years and 4th grade in the Clark County Public School system for two years. After staying home to care for her two children for five years, she returned to teaching. Julie taught 1st grade at Calvary Christian School for twelve years and served as the librarian/reading interventionist for
four years. She is now a full-time interventionist.
Julie and her husband, Chris, have been married for 30 years. They live in Winchester and have a daughter, son, and daughter-in-law. Their children attended Calvary Christian School from preschool through middle school. Their family is an active part of Calvary Christian Church. They enjoy hiking, gardening, and traveling.
