Sydney Ponder-Hollland, 2's Teacher
My two children (Adelaide and Ryder) and I came to Calvary in the Fall of 2020. I've been with the two-year-old age group since I started working in early childhood education in 2010. I taught at Kids'R'Kids Beaumont in 2010, then Grace Early Learning Center in Georgetown in 2012. I was a stay at home mom from the time my oldest was born in 2014 until he started school in 2019. I rejoined the workforce, then, and taught briefly in Crestwood Christian's Parents Day Out program. When that ended indefinitely at the start of the pandemic, God led me here. I wish I had space to detail the “God things” that transpired during that trajectory. The incredible mercies and "coincidences"... the specifics are too many to list.
I'm a newly certified Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Facilitator and trauma informed yoga instructor. I enjoy teaching/implementing breathing techniques, somatic movement, and mindfulness practices in the classroom. Establishing connections with our students is important for their well-being, and those connections are so much of my heart. I'm grateful for each moment I spend with the children in my care.
